Gotcha! They say never work with children or animals and so far I have successfully avoided one of them. Today, however, I have been rewarded for having the patience of a saint as I tried to capture this amazing blue tit. For a number of years we've had blue tits nesting in the pot and producing little families and watched as they built nests and fed their young. What amazes us is the first flight of the young birds which must be a vertical take off into unknown territory. The pot itself gets hot in the sun (not evident today!) but it doesn't seem to worry the residents who come back to this time-share year after year.
