Lightening Captured on The Med

During an evening walk around Monaco, I was mesmerized by the cloud formation, gloomy sky and the 'calm before the storm'. From the balcony of the Fairmont Hotel, I lined up my iPhone to center a shot to include the 'Hexa Grace' by Victor Vasarely on the roof of Auditorium Rainier III, and the luxury yacht 'Chopi Chopi' which was peacefully anchored in the bay. At exactly the same time I took the shot, a lightening bolt appeared on the horizon, and the image was captured. The following day I was contacted by a press photographer at Nice Matin who had seen my image on my Facebook page, and asked if I would give my permission to have the shot posted in the paper as the 'Photograph de l'Internaut' (photo of the day), the following morning. My first publication and 'big break' came with a lightening bolt ;)
