Richard's birthday cake

My brother Richard was 77 on Saturday; this is a boiled fruit cake made by a kind friend and decorated by his wife (7 candles to represent 77!). Delicious!

(The husband of the cake-maker was born exactly the same day as Richard, and one of them should have won a cup for being the baby born closest to the coronation of George VI; but the cup went instead to the mother of a little girl who only lived a few hours.....)
