The official photographer
Today I went on a charity walk to raise money for a breast cancer charity. It was great to be out, but the route had been changed at the last minute and we did the 10 miles almost entirely on tarmac. Arth was not happy with that. (The original route had become very boggy in places due to heavy rain.)
The pace was also fast. My average walking speed was 3.2 mph and overall walking speed of 2.8 mph (that includes any stops in the calculation). So we set off after 1pm - had to wait for torrential hail to stop - and were back for farmhouse tea at Goatstones Farm by about 4.30pm. (Personal note to Harry - faster than most/all of the walking festival walks! Of course we don't like to be on tarmac for any distance.)
The tea was as you would expect - the table in the farm kitchen was groaning. There was a good raffle too and over £400 was raised.
Cliff was the official photographer for the day. He was using the same lens as I was. The high vis jacket was challenging to photograph and in the colour version his face was tinged with a ghastly shade of bright yellow, so mono it had to be.
Glad to walk after a few days off.
