Open Gardens in Callander
A peacock struts his stuff around the gardens of the Roman Camp in Callander.
This former 17th century hunting lodge is now a hotel and today its gardens were open to the public under Scotland’s Garden Scheme.
While there I bumped into an old friend who recalls a family visit there as a child for Sunday tea.
But his parents were alarmed at the interest Ivor Novella, a guest in the hotel, showed in him.
“He touched me up.”
It is a story he retells with gusto.
