Sometimes it's hard to explain things
Sometimes it takes a lot of tries
Sometimes we lose patience
Sometimes we don't listen
Sometimes we don't hear
Sometimes things get misunderstood and out of proportion
Sometimes it seems easier to push help away than to accept it
Sometimes it seems simpler to stop offering than to be pushed away
Sometimes we take up positions that cast shadows longer than they need to be
Sometimes we grow a thorny shield to protect ourselves from potential attack
Sometimes we forget that the thorns also prevent help getting thru

Sometimes we can survive in a desert
But not for long
