Wibbly Wobbly Wonder

Actually, they weren't wobbly at all--they just made me feel wobbly. It was EU Open House day yesterday, when all the EU embassies open their doors to the public. We managed some gelato (and were entertained by stilt dancers) in the Italian Embassy, wine in the Croatian Embassy, Walnut bread (and accordian) in the Slovenian Embassy, Strudel in the Austrian Embassy, Beer in the Dutch Embassy and not a bloody thing in Hungary or Slovakia. We skipped the long queue at the Irish Embassy, where hundreds of people were being tortured by a woeful display of Irish dancing. But the highlight wasn't an embassy at all--the Islamic Cultural Centre (right beside all the embassies) had a bazaar, where we sheltered from the rainstorm while eating delicious food from Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Sudan.

I think that's most of the world covered. And all in one day.
