New Truck!

What a day!

Saw this on Craigslist last night, and it's the exact spec I want. An F250 with extended cab (halfway between 2 door and 4 door - it has 2 rear suicide half doors), an 8 foot bed, and a low end work truck model (eg not a Lariat/King Ranch/etc or any other premium model.). This one sealed the deal with the diesel engine which is a huge bonus.

A little above budget, but....the diesel engine. Like.

A few figures - 6.4l V8 twin turbo diesel, producing 650lbs of torque at 2,000rpm, and 350bhp at 3,000 rpm. Turns out the original sticker price was north of $36,000 a few years ago.

And here's the fact that gets you the most - it's nearly 20 feet long. Technically, it doesn't actually fit in our driveway.

Previous owner was a Ford dealership - it was in the parts department picking up parts from the area. It has a few miles on it, but that's not worrying as it's been all straight lines - this is America afterall. Not like it's been used as a taxi.

Really pleased with it. Kinda brought forward the purchase of it a few months earlier because nice looking late model work trucks are so difficult to come by, especially those from fleets.

Booked flights for Europe today....scary. We have a leaving date.
