364/365 [crystal ball]

As we approach the end of the decade (where has that gone!?), I took a shot at some crystal ball (bauble?) gazing tonight to predict what the world would be like in 2020. Then quickly gave up when I realised it was impossible...

Rewind to 30 December 1999: in ten years time, you won't need wires to connect to the internet. You won't need to buy a CD to listen to music. In fact you can have every CD you've ever owned on a tiny little device called an iPod. Woolworths won't exist! People will get all of their information from an online encyclopedia which (and this is the best bit) will be written by the people! Little memory sticks will hold thousands of floppy disks worth of data. Pluto won't be a planet any more. Scientists will be able to clone pigs. There will be a new Pope. And the US President's job will be contested by a woman and an African American. And so on... Yeah, right!!

See, it's impossible!
