A "Gull" (see main text for "clarification")

Distinguishing a "Great Black Backed Gull" from a "Lesser Black Backed Gull" is not always very easy. In fact a "Lesser Black Backed Gull" can have a darker plumage than a "Great Black Backed Gull" ... This gull, however, was nearer the size of a "Herring Gull", so because an adult "Great Black Backed Gull" is larger than a "Herring Gull", my money is on this gull being a "Lesser Black Backed Gull" ... :o)
(No wonder these type of birds are generally known as "Sea Gulls" ... even though they are not technically sea birds and should really just be called "Gulls")
(I think I'll shut up now.)
