Emma Pooley Leads Women's Tour Breakaway

Why does everything happen on the same day? It was the Hitchin Schools Fair in the Square today from 10-2pm. Our school choir was singing at 11.30am. We were there from early on having been to return library books first. The kids had £4 each to spend, mostly spent on our school's bowling alley, but they had their faces painted and won some obligatory sweets and plastic tat toys.

From there we raced over to Letchworth to catch part of the fourth stage of the Women's Tour of Britain. Emma Pooley here, was leading the breakaway. Knowing who won the stage I can only surmise that the breakaway was caught. I am looking forward to watching the highlights later, it may also shed some light on the reason that there were a couple of reasonable size groups way off the the pace of the peloton.

Once the cyclists had speed past on there way to Welwyn Garden City, we headed over to Stotfold and stopped at N&P's as the rain came down. Considering the forecast we have done well to stay dry today.

Now the kids are in bed and I am scratching my head wondering what to pack for tomorrow and more to the point, what have I got myself into?
