Mr Benjamin

Like most kids , our 1950s primary school teachers were virtually all women, totally dedicated, strict but maternal........Mrs Frame, Miss Kirkwood, Miss Kailise, Mrs Edmiston, lovely Mrs Woodburn.......... until we encountered the terrifying Mr Asher, temporary teacher, after whom there came little scarey Mr Benjamin, with his pointy finger and his "Miss Mckay! I've got my beady eye on YOU!" I never see a blackbird without thinking of Mr B!
