Tumbling Weir Hotel:

We had a very pleasant stay at the Tumbling Weir Hotel at Ottery St Mary. Very well looked after and the food was excellent.

We both took similar photos as might be expected, and Mrs W has blipped an excellent image of the weir and a bit of history.

The ‘tumbling’ weir was installed to increase the head of water to contend with the additional power needed to drive the ‘new’ factories as opposed to the comparatively small mills etc of previous years.

My blip is a diptych of our bedroom window at the hotel, and the weir (best viewed in large).
