'Dimming of The Day'

Just while the sun was setting tonight after a drizzly but gorgeous day. The Boy Magician and I headed up the road to Kangaroo Ground to watch the dimming of another day.

This morning we went to visit a local steelwork artist Tim Read who had his Studio and house opened as part of the Nillumbik Open Artists Studios. He had set up a walk around the magical gardens of his property where he was displaying his works. He lives in a stunning area called 'Bend of Islands' which is only a 15 minute drive from us but totally different landscape to where we live. After the half hour or so walking around his sculpture walk in a light misty rain discovering all sorts of things hidden amongst the landscape, he invited us all into his house for a cuppa, some scones and a chat. He has only lived at his property for 3 years and has just completed major renovations to the original mud brick house that sits on the property including his purpose built studio. All of his works are made from reclaimed or recycled steel which he gathers from a number of different sources.
I would love to visit again and next time with a camera for sure.
