B is for Beach... Porthgwidden!

Any ideas?! Of course, there really is no question as to what B is for. With 5 stunning beaches to choose from, in the town itself, we must blip about the beaches! Porthmeor is the largest and probably the busiest beach, the sea is the Atlantic ocean so is famous for surfing and other water sports. Porthgwidden, pictured, is snuggled between the island and the harbour and is a safe haven for young children. Bamaluz, just behind the harbour, is the dog beach and not included in any dog bans. The Harbour beach, in the heart of the town, is very popular especially during the early summer months. Porthminster Beach attracts young families and is always busy, as the sea is much calmer than at Porthmeor. Carbis Bay beach and Porth Kidney sands are also beautiful beaches just a mile or so out of the town. St Ives really is so lucky to have so many gorgeous beaches. So, whether it's surfing, safety, proximity to the town, sand texture, the views, the cafes or purely because 'that's where we've always gone' everyone has their favourites and the reasons why, are all different.
So, come on, tell us.. Which is your favourite and why?
