Drawings

Today I visited a hearings centre to observe how discussions with families are conducted under current legislation. The issues are challenging and personal and at times raw as the panel members work out what is best for the children involved.

The main hurdle is to translate the necessary legal procedures of the tribunal into something meaningful and comprehensible to those present. I was impressed by the way it was all conducted with the focus constantly on the child's needs despite some of the wishes of the parent.

A bright spot in the room was this wall of drawings by previous young attendees.
