The Lime Avenue
I have tried to capture the magnificent lime tree avenue, near my cottage, on several occasions, but never been happy with the results.
With the evening sun shining on the new leaves, I think this shows how impressive the trees are.
The 100 Lime trees were planted in 1717 - making them almost 300 years old. Several trees were severely damaged by the storms last winter, losing huge boughs, but this particular section is in good health.
It is a glorious place to walk on the path between the two rows of trees.
