Bay of Islands

We went quite north, not as far as possible, Cape Reinga was still far off, but Bay of Islands was far enough for us. And what a stunning place! With 144 islands, no crowds, even though we were warned that all Kiwis go away on holidays after Christmas. Maybe they do, but the whole country has just over 4M people, nowhere near what the UK has, so crowd definition is slightly different here. We managed to get a room with this view day before we left, there were plenty of tables in restaurants, we parked the car everywhere we wanted. That's not crowdy, that's deserted in books.
