A little on the large side

I found this rather large wasp on the landing this morning and I think it must have been inside one of the towels that had been on the line earlier this week. It wasn't very active so may have been a bit hungry. Anyway I put a glass over it and a piece of paper underneath, took it downstairs and photographed it. The glass was a bit thick which explains why the wasp isn't completely sharp. I was impressed with its jaws.

Son and grandson have been visiting today and I am also trying to put together our Llangollen canal walk as we will have two cars and need to find suitable parking spots between one end and the other of each day's walk.
