montpellier

Pierre and I went to visit Stephanie and Valentin in Montpellier yesterday. We arrived before lunch and checked in at our hotel. It was so easy to get to, well worth it if you're ever going to Montpellier! Even if the decor is awful! The staff were really friendly and it's pretty central, so that made up for it :)

S and V came to meet us at the hotel - so great to see them. They took us to a traditional French restaurant for lunch and then we walked and walked and walked. We saw so much of the city. It's got a great, relaxed, studenty vibe. The old part of the town, including the Place de la Comédie, is gorgeous, with lots of meandering small streets, and little squares with cafés and bistros in them. S and V took us to a bar called The Black Sheep and Valentin bought a round of Canadian pints for us all called La Divine. It's beer at 9.5%!!! Pierre and I couldn't finish ours, so the young'uns had theirs then finished ours off! Ha!

We ate dinner in an English bar where I had fish and chips followed by sticky toffee pudding :)

We were so happy by the time we got back to our hotel. A wee mini holiday :)
