Blue and green.
I started the week with bluebells seen in meadows on our morning walk and I am unapologetically posting them again from our woodland walk this morning.
We followed our usual morning route for a deer spotting walk leaving the woods of the St Ives Estate and crossing Altar Lane into the woods that head down to Ravenroyd and Marley. We didn't see any deer in the usual places but the bluebells were stunning, not least the delightful smell. The,fresh greens of the new foliage on the trees was lovely too and as here, despite the forecast, we even had the odd spell of sun! Having said that after last night's heavy rain it was pretty muddy and slick in places.
As we left the woods and headed down to the meadows bordering the lane for our return, we were rewarded by the sight of four hinds grazing. (See WilsdenWalker)
Unfortunately this delightful walk ends with the dreaded 'killer steps' back into the St Ives woods!
