The Giro is coming

I don't understand all this Giro d'Italia business. If it's Italian, then what is it doing coming to Ireland? I know the television coverage is considered an ideal opportunity to show off the country, but I still don't understand the trend. Anyway, our politicians aren't really doing their bit to make the country look its best, with their election posters all over the place making the place look untidy and cheap and tacky.

One thing I'll say for this banner: it hides a good bit of this desperately ugly building that our City fathers allowed to be built right beside City Hall and Dublin Castle.
