Singing in the Rain
How many times have you been around people who just make you feel good and make you want to smile. Their optimism and exuberance are contagious. Or, how many times have been around someone who radiates confidence and certainty, so much so that you just like to be in the same room as they are. You just want to absorb their positive energy.
You've heard the sayings, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade", or "Life is too important to be taken seriously", or even "When the wolves are after you, learn to howl".
My favorite kind of people to be around are those who have gone through good times and the really tough times, yet they have moved through each circumstance coming out the other side so much wiser, richer, deeper for their experiences. I call them my "singing in the rain" friends. Whenever I am with them, I am encouraged and inspired. As I have thought about their attitude, two things have really stood out to me. One is their lack of self-focus. For the most part, they are more focused on others than they are on themselves. The second thing that has caught my attention is that they are always willing to "sing in the rain" - that when things are really tough, they are always willing to look past their situation to see something - maybe only one thing - that is positive as a result of their situation.
There are a number of people that I have "met" here on Blipfoto that are like this. I am touched and awed by your journals, and inspired to be a "singing in the rain" kind of person. Thank you.
This photo was taken up at Tahoe City. I walked out on the pier, and took a series of photos using exposure bracketing from a prone position on the lowest level of the pier. When I got home, I merged the photos, then ran the merged photo through SilverEfex, since the sky was so gray anyway.
I hope you have great plans for the upcoming weekend. Have a great Thursday.
