Mind Elsewhere

Please forgive the very very poor water drops on flower blip. I’ve tried light painting but just can’t get that right with this camera…I need to practice, but my mind my isn’t on blip.
My sister has text to say my niece Em is in hospital, her perforated ear is much much worse and poor Em is in a lot of pain and is a poorly girlie. Swabs have been taken of her ear so they can look at the right antibiotics for her and are considering giving her morphine for the pain. I can only imagine the pain Em must be in, I’m wishing her a speedy recovery.

Any tips on light painting with a Nikon D5200? What settings should I be using? S mode doesn’t like me!
