Bellis perennis , Bellis perennis
.....give me your answer do
Bellis is Latin for "pretty" and perennis means "everlasting".
"Daisy, daisy" (a.k.a. "Bicycle made for two") was the first song that was sung using synthesised speech back in 1962. Arthur C. Clarke heard it on a visit to the laboratory that was testing the voice synthesiser. It must have made an impression, as he then went on to use the song, sung by a synthesiser in the film "2001: A Space Odyssey".
This rather large patch of daisies is just up the road from us, on a piece of ground next to the road. Very soon the grass cutters will come along, and all these pretty little heads will have disappeared.
They won't be perennis or bellis then will they?
