What an honour...
The highlight of my day was receiving a thank you card from the person who was given my watercolour painting (27th April) as a retirement gift. She couldn't thank me enough and is overjoyed with the painting.
She also sent a photograph to show it hanging next to a beautiful pencil drawing of her Father, who was in the RAF and flew the Hawker Hurricanes during the War. I consider this a great honour and it's made me feel so much better.
It's always a worry when my paintings are gifted, as the recipient has no idea what to expect. I just pray that the day never arrives when someone says, 'It's awful!'
I didn't get anything done again, as I'm still full of cold and coughing. I did have to look after my Grandson for a few hours but he was no trouble, as he slept on my settee most of the afternoon. His Mum doesn't understand why, after she's paid a small fortune for a pocket sprung mattress for his toddler bed, he actually sleeps better on my settee. Having spent the last four days on it, I can vouch for it's comfort.
I'm hoping to potter around tomorrow and clear up some of the cups and glasses that have been mounting up in the kitchen.
