Fouras les Bains

The seaside town of Fouras lies on a peninsula on the Atlantic coast of France adjacent to the Ile d'Aix. It dates back to the time when people came here to take the ‘sea baths’ and a lot of the architecture is redolent of this time with beautiful Belle Epoque mansions set in leafy streets.
This impressive view is from the top of Fort Vauban which once formed part of France's strategic naval defence.
