Blackcurrant in early spring
It's cold outside; only 5C. The wind blows and it feels even colder with the wind-chill effect. But spring struggles onwards, steered by the long hours of daylight, even if warmth and rain are notable by their absence.
This blackcurrant bush was not planted bu us but appeared spontaneously. However, it loved the trellis and is now climbing the walls.
The leaves have finally unfolded to absorb the weak sun and the proto-flowers are in place, waiting for slightly better conditions.
