WE MADE IT TO THE PAPAGEIENHOF
despite the rain.
In the morning a friendly young woman, expert in tree health issues, came to us and inspected the oak and the beech, she found them healthy and that reassured us a lot. When we walk in the forests there are so many tree lying down, uprooted and it is such a poor sight. Great to know that our trees are doing well.
In the afternoon at four o'clock, I just awoke from a nap, Piet Hein suggested to make a nice walk.
We climbed the other slope of the valley, left the Hugenottenturm at our right sight and how lucky we felt when we arrived at the big plain, with large fields of rapeseeds. Piet Hein was happy to take pictures of the far reaching view.
I took some too, but when we came to the Papageienhof, I found my blip in one of the parrots.
We had walked in a soft drizzle of rain but now it started really raining.
We did not stay for shelter in the Hof but continued our walk on the plain till we reached the forest of Herstelle where the trees gave us a bit comfort.
At six we were back in Karlshafen and after buying some food, we hurried home.
The raccoon was already waiting for a bite and we ate our spaghetti with gusto too.
Now I will hurry to start commenting, since I am a bit behind.
But first my haiku:
It felt like holiday
A walk in the rain leaving
Our tent after some hours
A long time ago since we camped in a tent, but the memory still vividly.
And the proverb:
The rain always comes out of Mobberley hole. (Wilmstow)
1917 in Bridge. The direction from which an unpleasant wind or rain comes is iuvariably termed a hole.
