~ House Finch~
Today I saw my first House Finch this year. Adult males are rosy red around the face and upper breast, with streaky brown back, belly and tail. In flight, the red rump is conspicuous. Adult females are plain grayish-brown with thick, blurry streaks and an indistinctly marked face.
Tonight I put out my feeder thinking its probably time to see the Gold Finches. So you will probably be seeing one of them soon.
