Peeling off

Today turned out nice and warm. I had over-dressed, still thinking it's going to be cold. Like me, this arbutus, decided to peel off a layer. The peeling back seems to be like stripping as there looks like a nipple exposed! [Clothing malfunction?] The exposed newer bark is smooth and tactile.
