Finally some sun (and a really good day)...
that allowed me to play a little more with IR. I went to a local cemetary that dates back to the late 1800's and wandered through reading names and wondering about their lives, some long and some very short.
A teenage boy, Lucas, approached after a bit and began to share a project that he was working on for school and his thoughts on it. The kids were partnered up and then given a film camera with which they were to find images that represented their "partner". These images will then be collaged with words and put on display. I so enjoyed our conversation and was heartened by teachers that think up projects like this to expand young people's minds and let them experience something that they might otherwise not. It was also heartwarming to be approached by a teen who wanted to engage in a discussion with an "adult"...and yes, I told him about Blipfoto!
I was so fortunate to be raised in a home where artistic pursuits were valued...
