Wedding bands & baby toes

Today was my 3rd photo shoot as a family photographer, a little business on the side as my days are filled with my two sons and especially my 2 year old's specialist medical and developmental care. I've loved taking photographs since I was a kid and how wonderful to combine that passion now with my passion for babies.

How honoured I am today to have photographed the newborn shoot of one of the nurses who looked after my son Reuben as a newborn during his 6 month stay in intensive care.

What lovely symmetry there is in that, meeting through my son and reuniting again with hers.

I took 800 shots and as everyone will no doubt tell me, I'm going to have to be a hell of a lot more selective in photographing if I'm to get anywhere. And yet, I love the time I can spend on a shoot, wanting to walk away with that warm sense of satisfaction that I've made something I believe to be beautiful.
