A Major Work

The word 'Major' has inspired this particular image, focussing on the key of A Major within a chorus from the magnificent work The Creation' by Joseph Haydn. It is beautiful and very tuneful. I am performing this with my choir on 21st June so rehearsals are in full swing.

This work was a set piece when I did music A level many years ago and I loved it then. The score in the image is from a Voices for Hospices event when choirs all over Britain took part in a simultaneous performance on 5th October 1991 with every baton going down at precisely 7.30 (co-ordinated by Radio 4). It was a wonderful experience to be a part of something so big.

I've sung it a couple of times since then and very pleased to be doing it again. It's really worth listening to, especially the chorus 'The Heavens are Telling the Glory of God!' Find it on you tube or somewhere - you'll love it.

I admit to taking the moon photo in April but using it as a background for todays' blip.
