Desert Squirrel

Female house sparrow

We spent a couple of hours at the Orana Park wildlife park this morning, after a bike ride on Macleans Island. Surprisingly, I liked the pics of the cheeky sparrows who were eyeing up our sandwiches better than anything else I shot today.

We saw the two young cheetahs that have been hand reared by park staff. The older one escaped recently (for all of 10 minutes), swimming across the moat, and then finding a weak point in the fence, to the surprise of visitors. Quite an achievement, but now both the brothers are safely housed in a smaller enclosure.
