We've been out and about today even though the weather has not relented to melt away all the snow. Although we pottered for most of the day we made the concerted effort to get out of the house to go see Sherlock Holmes. It was OK, but rather spoiled by the fire alarm mid film. We decided rather than bugger about waiting to get back in and get a seat to sod off to Tesco at Corstorphine to see what they've done to the place.
Stocking up on the random crap we usually come out of there with (and some milk!) we headed off to Linlithgow to see my mum and to install her new TV we bought her for Christmas.
As with all trips home they are fraught with having to face 5 carnivorous dogs that love to nibble at your ankles and scrape you with their claws. Today was no different.
They did however behave enough for us to get the new TV in place, all tuned in and allow us to watch some of the Celebrity Weakest link. Samsung LCD & Plasmas are dead easy to set up - this being my third I've had to do.
As a thank you my mum took us out to The Park Bistro for our tea. Linlithgow is currently afflicted by frozen snow. My mum's street has not been treated so as the snow as melted slightly and then re-frozen it has caused rutts in the snow where cars have been. My car, being a wee bit low to the ground (Lowered by VW, not me being chavvy!) was hitting all these rutts making some horrid noises as we wound our way there and back. Dinner was fantastic, even if I am not at my best. Currently suffering man-flu type symtoms with a runny nose and fuzzy head.
Off to bed now for some Mock the Week DVD goodness, then some well earned sleep.
