Piccadilly Circus

Found myself in a queue today for the tiny watch repair shop located in the ticket hall at Piccadilly Circus. Got me thinking about Transport for London's plans to refurbish the tube stations and expand the retail space (including into the to-be-defunct manned ticket offices).

The reality is that updating London's tube stations will be welcomed, just look at how much improved Kings Cross is now. The ticket offices are often dark and with low ceilings and there is plenty of demand for shops, cafés and services, including watch and shoe repairs, key cutting and dry cleaners.

In the meantime I think I will indulge in some occasional blips of nostalgic Underground signs and scenes before they all disappear.
