Sunbathing...

Several large red damselflies have emerged from the garden pond over the last couple of days, and can be seen perched on sunlit leaves, warming themselves and keeping an eye out for competitors. As they were in the garden I was able to use the 300mm lens, although not for very long!

I must admit to spending some time sunbathing on the lawn after lunch, hoping that the warmth would help to relax me - not sure it worked - everything seems to have been quite tender and taut again today. But while I was out there I was delighted to see the first two swifts of the year - summer really has begun!
