DAWN FRASER........
..... a Living legend of both Australian and World sport!
We were into Sydney this morning and crossing Wynyard Park my eye of course caught this photographer set up taking shots. As we got closer I realised it was Dawn Fraser. From her web page it quotes..." She is an international phenomenon: a multi-Olympic and Commonwealth Games Gold Medal winner whose success stretched over fifteen magnificent years. During her career she broke and held 41 World records and was undefeated over 100 metres freestyle".
Not sure (although the face familiar) who it was with her, but the statue overlooking them to the right is.... At the northern end of the park from 1890 of the Reverend J.D. Lang, the Presbryterian minister who founded the Scot's Church in 1826. His statue is close to the Scots Church the main Presbyterian church in central Sydney.
After a busy day in the City, this can be my journal today, and proud to have included an Australian of such ability in her sport.
Enjoy, and trust you have all had a top day, take a look in LARGE .
... been "testing" some new software out, so if I were to have been an artist and did a water sketch of Dawn this is what it may have looked like???
