Sparkles
I gave the bird feeder a much-needed spring clean this morning by detaching it from the balcony and turning the garden hose on it. I was delighted with the way that the grate at the bottom lit up and sparkled in the sunlight thanks to the dozens of tiny prisms formed by water caught between the wires. So much so that I had to photograph it.
Before I rudely removed the food supply, I managed a fairly decent shot of this female brown-headed cowbird, which was pleasing, because I've never got a shot of one before. Truth to tell, I'd never even seen one before this week.
Otherwise, the day was spent in the yard, gardening and some trail clearing. I found the first flowers that I've seen this year out on my new trail near the pond - tiny little white and blue things poking up between the ubiquitous brown of the dead oak leaves. I think they are wood anemones. Or micro wood anemones. I'm sure a shot will appear on these pages soon (assuming I can find them again.)
