Another Spring In Wharfedale
I decided that since the weather was not as predicted (pishing), I'd don my walking boots and try to burn off some blubber. And so I took myself off to the Chevin Forest Park, from part of which I took this view of Lower Wharfedale looking to the North. One can see Almscliffe Crag in the distance and left of centre is the Wharfebank Brewery, where the (in)famous 'Fang' is made. You'd need a magnifying glass to pick out the rail viaduct on the Harrogate line; it's a bit like 'Where's Wally' in stone.
I saw curlews, avocets, lapwings and a lark. Ascending, yet. (The lark, not me, although I was climbing to the summit.)
That was as good as it got.
By the end of the day, I had possibly sprained my right ankle, forgotten to rinse out the caustic soda I had put down the plughole in the scullery sink, thus blocking the trap with corrosive concrete, burned the fingerprints off my left hand attempting to remove same, and accidentally poured hand sanitiser into an open wound.
Still, you have to laugh.
