The Auldgirth Inn
Well, got away ok and without too much of a delay. Got part way up the M6 Toll road and remembered that I left my whiskey bible at home by Iain Banks. Once I got past the sign for Shap I was driving into a new wilderness and then a new country. 256 miles later and the Auldgirth Inn was a welcome sight! After six-an-a-half hours, two stops to stretch the legs at Crannock and Gretna Green. The Inn is about 6/7 miles north of Dumfries.
Very homely place, two dogs, an American twice, and a freshly brewed cuppa made as soon as I arrived. All before seeing the room too. Meet some interesting folks this evening too and eat some nice food too.
A nice friendly Inn serving real locally brewed ale. Just closing off the night with a Glen Moray.
