Evensong at St Paul's
A lovely relaxing bank holiday! Gavin jet washed all the patio furniture and we managed to get some chores done around the house, and the older boys did some work for their upcoming A and As level exams.
After lunch we drove up to London as Adam was singing with his school chapel choir for Evensong at St Paul's cathedral. This was a great privilege as the regular choir was off for the bank holiday so the school applied for their choir to sing. All family and supporters were invited by the verger to sit in the quire, which is the area at the back of St Paul's behind the choir stalls, so we had an excellent view of them singing. One of their music teachers played the organ, which was pretty special for him (though he has played there a few times previously). I had hoped to get a photo of the choir singing in their cassocks in the choir stalls and although I had a good view no photography was allowed during the service.
After evensong we went with some friends for a quick supper over the road and then headed back home - now to get things ready for school tomorrow.
