New Barrel Scanner

This is one of Jason's other new lighting fixtures for his DJ rig. It's called a barrel scanner. He had one before but hasnt used one for a long time. This is a higher quality piece than his old one. Basically inside there's 60W white LED which project through a gobo to produce bright colours and patterns, this then reflects of the multifaceted barrel which multiplies the effect and filles the room with movement. In addition the gobos rotate which enhances the effect and there's an optional prism which multiplies each gobo patter by 3 before it hits the rotating mirror. This effect really fills a dance room with lots of motion and colour. I can't wait to see it in action properly, the optics on these are excellent so the colour and sharpness of the gobos is great, and it's fully computer controllable too.

They aren't cheap... so that's kind of good as Jas can't say anything about me buying camera gear when he splurges on this equipment every now and then!
