Herb Robert...
Another plant that I found flourishing in a tiny crack on a dry, barren wall on Wilbraham Road in Chorlton in Manchester. It's called Herb Robert and is a member of the geranium family. It usually has green leaves but when it grows in a confined, arid place like this, it comes in this red form. It can be used to ease toothache and stop nose bleeds apparently.
It's a pretty plant that has been taken around the world to grace gardens. In some places it has escaped and made a nuisance of itself. It Washington state in the USA, it's called Stinky Bob and is regarded as a noxious weed. And another name it has been saddled with is Death Comes Quickly. I have no idea why. Poor Herb Robert..
