Goal!!

A bit blurred, but this is the the moment Crewe secured Division One football for another season!

As a long-time Crewe Alexandra fan, I travelled up to Gresty Road and joined over 5000 other Crewe supporters all hoping the home side could get the win they needed to definitely avoid relegation.

Adam Dugdale calmed the home fans' nerves with an early headed goal at the far end (Crewe led Preston North End one-nil at half-time), and then, 15 minutes into the second half, Uche Ikpeazu got to the byline, cut it back to Matthias Pogba and he lashed home Crewe's second.

Preston got an injury time consolation goal but it didn't matter. A huge sigh of relief at the final whistle, a pitch invasion, a 'lap of honour'.... and a long but happy drive home.
