Bald Eagle

Vintage

After a visit to the nature reserve we called in to the Walton Lea project. Housed in a Victorian walled garden it provides supported employment for adults with learning difficulties.

They grow lots of plants and vegetables, make things from reclaimed wood, upcycle furniture and restore and repair bikes.

This Hercules Commuter bike caught our eye. NM is quite pleased that the original Brooks saddle has been replaced with this gel padded one. She has visions of floating down to the shops on it. The plastic basket will have to be replaced by a proper wicker one which will probably cost as much as the bike did.

The vintage theme continues with NM busy at the moment restoring a 1899 singer sewing machine.

Next Sunday, after quite a long break, I will be back at Speke Hall leading one of the Victorian tours. Time to brush up my presentation.

This morning I managed to get 4096 in the 2048 game.
