I just had to stop and blip this gorgeous creature on my travels. Isn't he magnificent?

Despite the dreich, drizzly day I have had a lovely birthday! I was invited for afternoon tea and cake (which turned out to be Anne's scrumptious lemon meringue pie) at friends', then other friends invited me in for an impromptu dinner, which was a relaxed evening with lots of laughs.

Being able to speak to both far-off daughters was the icing on the cake fluffy bit on the lemon meringue pie.
