Newcastle
Departure from Aberdeen and the drive down to Newcastle for the ferry over to Continental Europe. Check in and on board by about 4pm. The photograph is taken from the cabin before we left. The first time I have had a forward looking cabin.
Weather was a little misty and the sea slightly choppy, just enough to make the ship roll slightly. Definitely too cold for the Sky Bar, the open air bar on the top deck, to open. Nice dinner on the ship, though the bottle of wine seemed to have a hole in it as it emptied very quickly.
After dinner we adjourned to the bar for a digestivo, or a beer in my case. The entertainer was not as good, or not as aligned with my musical taste, as when we were last on one of the ferries. He said it was his first night on the ship, so maybe he will improve as time goes on. Somebody asked him to play "Streets of London" but he did not know it. Well we were leaving from Newcastle.
