Shadows' fall

Today, there was a fiesta in Sayalonga celebrating the nispero (medlar) harvest, with singing and dancing and all manner of feasting involving this ancient fruit. But the cemetery was still and quiet and calm and the sounds of the festivities seemed muted by the serenity that always pervades this special place.

I never find this beautiful cemetery an unhappy spot to be, but rather a restorative place to re-centre oneself before heading back into the maelstrom outside.
